Rockhill - Solidifying Rock Face

The Rockhill complex is located near the mountain on Côte-des-Neiges in Montreal. The rock face was becoming ever more dangerous because loose material would fall off and could potentially injure passers-by nearly forty feet below. We were hired to solidify the rock face and to eliminate the risk of falling debris.

This project consisted of scaling the surface with a mechanical shovel, jack hammers and small tools. We then proceeded by drilling nearly 200 holes into the rock face. Each drilled hole was approximately five feet deep. We then installed rock bolts and steel anchors in the holes. Finally, we installed galvanised cables in order to attach a galvanised steel-linked cage.
